2 Ind. officers accidentally shot during training
Police said that at the conclusion of a training exercise there was an inadvertent discharge of an officer’s weapon, striking that officer and a second officer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Two Fort Wayne Police officers were wounded last Tuesday in an accidental shooting at the Public Safety Academy, 7602 Patriot Crossing.
Police said that at the conclusion of a training exercise there was an inadvertent discharge of an officer’s weapon, striking that officer and a second officer. Both were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Fort Wayne Police Department Internal Affairs Division and the Fort Wayne Police Department Shooting Team arrived on scene and took over the investigation.
