TULSA, Okla. — Police released dash cam footage Thursday of a March 18 incident where an officer ran over and killed a wanted suspect who aimed a gun at officers.

Police were pursuing Madison Dickson, 21, who was a suspect in a series of gun-related crimes earlier that week, NewsOn6 reported.

Dickson exited her truck and fled from police with a gun in hand. In the video, she aims the gun at police before Officer Kayla Johnson and Detective Ronnie Leatherman open fire, Tulsa World reported. Sgt. Dave Walker told NewsOn6 police believe Dickson fired no shots.

Dickson points the gun at Officer Jonathan Grafton’s patrol car as he struck Dickson with his vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene, NewsOn6 reported.

“If you have to use any means to end that threat - not necessarily that person’s life, but to end that threat - that’s what you do,” Sgt. Shane Tuell said.

Dickson allegedly shot a man in the head two days before the deadly confrontation with police. The man is in critical condition, according to Tulsa World.

She was also wanted for a theft of a Best Buy on March 11 where she discharged a firearm. No one was injured in that case. On March 12, Dickson shot a woman in the arm outside a Walgreens when she wouldn’t get out of her car. That same day, Dickson was allegedly involved in an attempt to steal a license place from a parked vehicle at a local movie theater with a group of women. An employee said a woman who looked like Dickson pointed a gun, Tulsa World reported.

Three months before the gun-related crimes, Dickson dropped out of a drug-treatment center. According to NewsOn6, she stole a deputy’s patrol car while wearing handcuffs two years ago.

The three officers are on paid administrative leave as the investigation continues.
