REDMOND, Wash. — The Redmond Police Department is using a “Star Wars” themed video to help deter property crime, Q13 Fox reported.
Officers reenacted famous scenes from the series and structured the video based on the trailer for the newest movie, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, set to be released this month.
The department routinely sees an increase in crime around the holiday season. Data shows almost 50 percent of car prowls are from unlocked vehicles.
This video is the first in a month-long campaign designed to fight crime.
