Video: Hip hop artist teams up with Iowa police in ‘All Lives Matter’ music video

The video was made to promote unity

DES MOINES — Hip hop artist Will Keeps partnered up with the Des Moines police department to make a music video aimed at promoting unity.

The artist released a video for the song “WeFight” that was posted on the department’s Facebook page.

Will, the Des Moines Police Department, and Scavo High School teamed up to do this project.Hip Hop artist Will Keeps says, “This is part of the Wake Up Iowa movement where people from opposite sides and unite. Will Keeps and Police Chief Dana Wingert unite in this video to fight against violence.Will also says “This is a unique situation that needs to be heard around the world and that we need to stop dividing all our problems. We believe that all lives matter."Chief Dana Wingert was featured in this film and gave his support and resources of the department for the production of this video. The video was shot and edited by Kris Debolt. He is the owner of Digital Matters Productions. Kris also does freelance work for the City of Des Moines.

The song repeats the phrase “All Lives Matter” and shows officers in their daily work lives and struggles that come with the job.

“This is a unique situation that needs to be heard around the world and that we need to stop dividing all our problems. We believe that all lives matter,” Keeps told the department.

Chief Dana Wingert was featured in the film and gave his full support for the production of the video, according to the Facebook post.

The video garnered over 20,000 views.
