LAS VEGAS — They may look silly, but police officers clad in turkey costumes are crossing busy Las Vegas streets to remind drivers to follow laws at crosswalks.
In a fifth annual event, officers from Las Vegas Metro, Clark County School District and Nevada Highway Patrol are teaming up Tuesday to address pedestrian safety.
In the enforcement event, the turkey pedestrians cross marked crosswalks while awaiting patrol officers look on to see if vehicles yield to the fowl. Those caught breaking the law will be pulled over and cited.
