BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – Bay Village police officers had an unusual call when a giant inflatable jack-o-lantern was found blocking traffic at an intersection, WJW reported.

Dashcam footage shared on the police department’s Facebook page shows an officer arriving at the scene, where the runaway Halloween decoration was causing a backup. As the officer tried to stop the pumpkin, it briefly landed on top of him before he managed to free himself. With the help of additional officers, the inflatable was safely returned to its owner.

The department humorously reassured the public that “no officers (or pumpkins) were harmed during the event.” Wind gusts in the area were reported at 25 to 30 mph overnight, which likely caused the decoration to break loose. Home Depot advises following manufacturer instructions to secure inflatables during strong winds, according to the report.

“Sometimes, you can’t make this stuff up!” one Facebook user commented on the post.

“In my best Gene Wilder voice...‘It’s alive!’” another added.
