WASHINGTON — The FBI sent an alert to law enforcement agencies around the country warning them of possible Halloween attacks on officers, CBS News reported.
A group known as the National Liberation Militia may be planning a “Halloween Revolt”. Members were told to dress in costume, cause a disturbance then ambush officers who respond to help. The group told its members to wear masks and bring weapons including bricks and firearms.
“As part of the continuous dialogue with our law enforcement partners, the FBI routinely shares information about potential threats to better enable law enforcement to protect the communities they serve,” The FBI said in a statement obtained by the news site.
The public is also encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to police.
