Video: Driver repeatedly runs over Fla. officer, pedestrian

LAUDERHILL, Fla. —A Lauderhill Police Department officer was hospitalized after being intentionally run over while assisting with an accident investigation, 6 South Florida reported.

According to witnesses, the driver of a blue Nissan Rogue struck both the officer and a pedestrian, then reversed and ran over them multiple times before fleeing the scene, according to the report.

“It was intentional,” witness Diondre Noel told 6 South Florida. “He clearly tried to kill him.”

The driver was later stopped and taken into custody, according to the report. The officer, whose injuries reportedly included leg and facial damage, was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The pedestrian was also hospitalized.

Police obtained video footage from a nearby Tesla that captured the attack. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities from both Sunrise and Lauderhill police departments involved, according to the report.
