Body camera footage from the officers involved and surveillance footage shows the officers entering the store and speaking with a man near the entrance. The conversation cannot be heard because of the body camera’s two-minute audio buffer.

“I don’t have no weapons, sir,” the man can be heard saying as the camera audio begins.

As an officer reached out to grab the man’s arm, the man resisted, running toward the back of the store.

As officers pursued the man, the man can be seen producing a gun from a pocket or waistband.

Shots can be heard as the officers turn to retreat. They called for backup, exited the store and took cover behind a cruiser.

The suspect can be seen on surveillance footage chasing after the officers, firing shots at them as he ran toward the exit of the store, visibly wounded.

The suspect fled but was later found hiding behind a parked car, wounded in the arm.

Police recovered an unloaded 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine under a nearby vehicle, according to the report. The liquor store, a patrol car and other nearby vehicles were damaged by gunfire.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment and is now facing attempted murder charges. No officers were injured.
