After crashing the vehicle, the suspect fled on foot; officers found him at the beach, naked, and took him into custody

MALIBU, Calif. —A suspect has been taken into custody after he allegedly stole and crashed a truck hauling portable toilets, CBS News reported.

The Nov. 9 incident began when the suspect reportedly pretended to have a gun and carjacked an F-550 pickup truck hauling a trailer with multiple portable toilets.

The suspect crashed the vehicle shortly afterward and fled on foot. Santa Monica police, CHP and LASD officers responded to the crash.

Officers found him as he fled toward the Big Rock Beach shoreline, according to the report. He then stripped naked and ran into the ocean.

The man sat on rocks until police made contact with him from the shore and with the use of a drone, according to CBS News. Officers then brought the suspect a towel, cuffed him and took him into custody.

Officers did not recover a weapon, and no one was injured in the crash.
