LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles police arrested seven people on suspicion of various charges as street celebrations took place following the Los Angeles Dodgers’ defeat of the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 to win the World Series.

Three people were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism of a Metro bus, Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Norma Eisenman said. Of the other four, one was arrested on suspicion of battery of a peace officer, one for failure to disperse, one for possession of fireworks and one for injuring an animal after a woman allegedly rode her bicycle into a police horse.

Following the Game 7 win, fans took to the streets in various parts of Los Angeles, including Echo Park, Van Nuys, Pacoima, East Los Angeles and Little Tokyo.

Broadcast reports showed fireworks were lit and some fans drove donuts in the street.

Los Angeles police officials on X said officers had reported that industrial size fireworks and bottles were “being launched at them on Grand Ave between 9th St and Olympic Blvd,” leading an incident commander to authorize the use of less lethal munitions. A dispersal order was declared for the area of Olympic Boulevard and Grand Avenue a short time later.

A dispersal order had earlier been given for another crowd on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park and officers used horses and tear gas to try to disperse crowds.

LAPD had closed several streets around L.A. Live and Crypto.com Arena, where the Los Angeles Kings played the New Jersey Devils Saturday night, in anticipation of possible celebrations. The department also went on a citywide tactical alert shortly before 6 p.m.

A parade is scheduled to take place Monday, with the route starting along Broadway north of Temple Street, then turning westbound on Temple, southbound on Grand Avenue, westbound on Seventh Street then northbound on Figueroa Street before ending at Figueroa and 5th Street, according to a map posted by police on X.

LAPD also warned of road closures along the parade route Monday, with those potential closures starting as early as 7 a.m.
