SKULL VALLEY, Utah — A multi-state police pursuit ended in Utah when a vehicle involved in a Nevada domestic violence incident caught fire after spike strips were deployed, KUTV reported.

Video released by the Utah Department of Public Safety on Oct. 16 shows aerial footage of the Sept. 25 pursuit.

The driver reportedly called dispatch multiple times during the pursuit, stating he was armed and refusing to stop. He also threatened a confrontation with officers, according to the report. The pursuit reached speeds of up to 120 mph before the vehicle was disabled and caught fire. Both the driver and a passenger were taken into custody.

Troopers found open containers, syringes and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, according to the report. Kolander, who admitted to coming off a high, experienced a seizure while in custody and was briefly hospitalized before being arrested. He faces felony charges for failing to stop, along with misdemeanor DUI and possession charges. No injuries were reported from the pursuit or fire.
